Founded and run by Leon & Laura Curtis - Curtwood is a design and fabrication house with a focus on residential furniture and joinery.  

We started out in Sydney’s Inner West, but chased the sea and a little more space and found ourselves relocating a short drive up the M1 to the Central Coast. With our workshop and team now based on the coast. Predominately servicing Sydney Metro, Greater Sydney, Central Coast & Newcastle. ​

 

Leon Curtis – Craftsman & Designer

Leon is widely recognised for his exceptional skill in furniture and joinery, combining a designer’s sensibility with a maker’s precision. Leon started his training completing an AdvDip in Industrial Design and then undertaking Fine Furniture at the renowned Sturt School for Wood followed by his certificate in Cabinet Making, Leon has spent years honing a craft that balances technical excellence with thoughtful design. His work is characterised by clarity, restraint, and an exacting attention to detail - each piece deliberate, refined, and inherently enduring. Leon’s aims to do more with his furniture and joinery than occupy space but shape it, elevating everyday life with subtle intelligence and quiet authority.

 

Laura Curtis – Design Strategy & Delivery

Laura brings a rare blend of design thinking, project management, and business acumen to Curtwood. With a Bachelor in Finance & Marketing from UTS, she ensures every project runs seamlessly, translating client visions into meticulously resolved outcomes. Laura’s focus on communication, process, and execution ensures that each creation is as precise in its delivery as it is refined in its design.
